On November 4 at CIRANO, Mr Philippe Rainville, President and Chief Executive Officer of Aéroports de Montréal, shared his experience during a networking reception gathering researchers and business people.. The theme of his presentation was: "Making an airport a destination". Mr Rainville discussed his arrival at the head of Aéroports de Montréal, his vision for customer experience, the development projects at Montréal–Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport and the community spirit he has succeeded in developing among employees, including the change in the airport's brand image.

Symposium: 40 Years of Bill 101 in Québec - Five Experts' Views |

On the occasion of the 40th anniversary of Bill 101 in 2017, the management of Language Problems and Language Planning magazine entrusted François Vaillancourt, CIRANO Researcher and Fellow and Emeritus Professor at Université de Montréal, with the responsibility of producing a special issue of this journal examining the effects of this law. This issue contains articles by Richard Bourhis, Charles Castonguay, Gilles Grenier, Michel Paillé and Marc Termotte. This symposium, organized on October 22nd at CIRANO, in collaboration with the Observatoire de la Francophonie économique, presented its main results.

The 8th annual Workshop on Networks in Trade and Finance took place on October 18 and October 19, 2019 at CIRANO. This workshop is organized jointly with CIRANO and the Sam M. Walton College of Business at the University of Arkansas, and builds on the successful CIRANO Workshops on Networks in Trade and Finance that have taken place in Montreal, Fayetteville (Arkansas, USA) and Lucca (Italy) over the last seven years.
