Dear colleagues, partners and collaborators,
This year, even if the back-to-school season goes online or with social distancing, researchers, visiting fellows and the special COVID-19 expert committee continue to remain mobilized in this context of unprecedented crisis to help governments and our partners base their decision making on evidence and expert advice.
Since March 2020, this mobilization has been reflected in more than 20 CIRANO project reports and working papers related to COVID-19 as well as more than 30 articles in the Insights Series. CIRANO Researchers have also been - and still are - present in the media with more than 100 articles or citations. All of these contributions are available on our website dedicated to COVID-19, which is regularly updated.
Researchers have also responded in large numbers to the call of Quebec's Minister of Finance by proposing avenues to be favoured, notably in health, education, the economy and public finance to support economic recovery.
It is important to underline the strength and importance of the CIRANO network and the Main Researchers to mobilize and collaborate collectives of researchers from all Quebec universities.
We are actively working on the programming of fall activities as well as on the valorization of research results.
Have a good start to the new school year,
Nathalie de Marcellis-Warin President and CEO of CIRANO

COVID-19: Publications by CIRANO Researchers in the context of the Minister of Finance's call for contributions |
|
|
Quebec Minister of Finance Eric Girard issued a call to the academic economists community to propose actions to accelerate the economic recovery, ensure sustainable economic growth, revitalize Quebec's regions and reduce the budget deficit that will result from the COVID-19 pandemic, while maintaining adequate funding for health and education. CIRANO Researchers mobilized to respond to this call by producing four research project reports, the results of which were submitted to the government on August 21, 2020. Several discussion papers have also been submitted on major issues of health, education and economic recovery.
The reports produced are available here.
