For several years now, Quebec has been experiencing a significant tightening of its housing market. Access to property is more difficult. There are fewer housing units available, and rents are rising significantly. Public authorities are looking for solutions. What are the research community's thoughts on these issues?
All these questions were discussed by various panels of experts on November 7 at Espace Canal.
The aim of this event was to provide an overview of housing research in Quebec, at universities and in the community, using a multidisciplinary approach. The research presented provided a better understanding of the current housing crisis in Quebec and the solutions being considered.
The conference was organized by CIRANO in collaboration with the Ivanhoe-Cambridge Observatory of Urban and Real Estate Development (UdeM), the Groupe de recherche sur le Développement économique et les inégalités des territoires (UQAM), and CMHC.
