Chaînes de valeur durables dans le secteur bioalimentaire québécois – Une analyse des facteurs favorisant leur création, leur développement et leur performance
This research project analyzes the factors influencing the creation, development, and performance of Quebec's agri-food value chains. Based on a literature review, interviews, and expert consultations, the study focuses on specific value chains (cranberries, beef, seeds and nuts, wheat) and examines the dimensions of added value (process efficiency, product quality, profitability). Findings reveal that the concept of added value is unevenly understood, highlighting a need for training to standardize this notion. The study identifies five key themes for developing value chains: coordination and collaboration, market orientation, innovation, efficiency, and public policy, which impact organization and flexibility, innovation, consumer satisfaction, and competitiveness. Public policies also play a role by strengthening value chain capacities through financial support, market access, and a regulatory framework that facilitates product identification.
